Dr. Junhong Zhou, a native of Guiyang, China, began his violin
studies at the age of four under the guidance of his family. His
formal training led him to the Affiliated Middle School of the Sichuan
Conservatory of Music in 2005, followed by the Shanghai
Conservatory of Music, where he earned his Bachelor of Music
degree.

In early 2013, he joined the Guiyang Symphony Orchestra.
In 2017, Dr. Zhou moved to the United States to pursue advanced
studies. He subsequently earned his Master of Music in Violin
Performance from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Doctor
of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from the University of Iowa.
From 2021 to 2023, Dr. Zhou served as Associate Concertmaster of
the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. As the first violinist of the
Kaydenn Quartet, he performed extensively across Iowa,
Wisconsin, and Illinois. In March 2023, he secured a violin position
with the Sioux City Symphony Orchestra. Shortly thereafter, in May
2023, he was invited to become a Chamber Music Residency with
the Knox-Galesburg Symphony.
Dr. Zhou is currently based in the SF Bay Area, where he continues
to perform and teach.
